
Six Georgia Southern students took home awards at the local level of the 2016 American Advertising Awards (ADDY) in Savannah this month.
Georgia Southern University’s Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art presents a multimedia exhibition, exploring College Street and the west side of downtown Statesboro, by students in the undergraduate studio art capstone class. The exhibition is open to the public on April 29, 5-7 p.m. in the Foundations Drawing wing of the Visual Arts Building, rooms 2049 and 2050.

Georgia Southern University’s Faculty Service Committee has presented a faculty service award to be used to provide support staff, a student camp coordinator and materials needed to operate Camp RAD: Recreation for Adolescents with Disabilities.

Olivia Carr Edenfield, Ph.D., was presented with the Wells/Warren Professor of the Year Award at the Georgia Southern University 2016 Honors Day Convocation held at the Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, April 6.

Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art student Allison Mueller is gearing up to introduce printmaking to the community in a big way — using a steamroller — during this year’s ArtsFest on April 23 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sweetheart Circle at Georgia Southern University.
Georgia Southern University has selected Stephen Harmon, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Learning Technologies Division in the College of Education and Human Development at Georgia State University, and Carol H. Burrell, president and CEO of Northeast Georgia Health System, as the speakers for the 2016 Spring Commencement ceremonies on May 6 and 7.

The Georgia Southern University Office of Public Safety has received a grant for $10,000 from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, with which the department has purchased Watchguard 4RE in-car camera systems for additional patrol vehicles.

The James H. Oliver, Jr. Institute for Coastal Plain Science (ICPS) at Georgia Southern University has awarded Lauren Neel and Matthew Scanlon the 2016 ICPS Summer Graduate Student Research Assistantships.
