
“We’re proud to announce our intention of being one of the first public universities to double-match the REACH scholarship,” said Keel. “Through additional corporate partnerships, donations and proceeds the University receives from the sale of its specialty license plates, Georgia Southern will invest in the future of our state, one life at a time, by dedicating additional funds to the program.”

“This program indicates that Georgia Southern is responsive to provide educational experiences that will improve the health care of Georgians,” said Allen. “It also shows the University’s commitment to continue meeting the educational preparation necessary for nurse practitioners to work in the ever-changing health care environment.”

School nutrition managers from across the state of Georgia recently gathered at Georgia Southern University to attend Culinary Institute II, a 32-hour, weeklong training session.

Georgia Southern University researchers have partnered with the Warrior Hike “Walk Off The War” Program, to study thru-hiking as an alternative method of therapy for combat veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Georgia Southern University will save more than $350,000 over a five-year period by using light emitting diode (LED) bulbs instead of standard incandescent bulbs in eight of the campus housing complexes.
