License Plate Recognition (LPR) System
Georgia Southern utilizes a mobile License Plate Recognition (LPR) system to enhance parking enforcement and improve operational efficiency across campus. This system integrates advanced camera technology with our parking management software to streamline enforcement and increase accuracy.
As vehicles move through campus lots and roadways, LPR cameras automatically scan license plates and identify potential parking violations based on Georgia Southern’s parking regulations and lot-specific rules. The system instantly syncs with our enforcement platform, allowing citations to be issued directly from patrol vehicles using connected mobile devices.
Key Features

No Pull Thru, No Back-in
Parking and Transportation have now implemented regulations which will ensure accurate calculation of lot occupancy and permit utilization. What does this mean for you? Students are no longer issued parking decals and hang tags for faculty/staff will be used for gate entrance only. Your license plate has become your parking permit, therefore backing into or pulling thru parking spaces is no longer allowed making your license plate visible at all times. This license plate recognition software will also open up a variety of online options as well, so it’s possible you won’t have to step foot in the Parking and Transportation office again.
