Student-led. Student-read.
The George-Anne Media Group is Georgia Southern University’s premier student-run media organization. From breaking news to campus culture, we inform, entertain, and connect the Eagle Nation across all campuses. Powered entirely by students, we produce engaging digital, print, video, and social content that reaches thousands of readers and viewers every day.
We aim to empower students through immersive, real-world media experience—giving them the first and final word on stories that matter to the Georgia Southern community.
Whether you’re interested in journalism, photography, videography, graphic design, social media, or simply want your voice heard—we have a place for you. No experience required. Training is provided!

History
Founded in 1927, The George-Anne is the oldest continually operating newspaper in Bulloch County and publishes more content than any other student-run newspaper in Georgia. The publication’s name was chosen during a time when men and women attended separate classes, resulting in the gender-neutral “George-Anne.” Since then, we’ve been a pillar of student voice and storytelling on campus for nearly a century.
