Wellness Ambassadors

Who Are Wellness Ambassadors?

We are a dedicated group of student leaders with a shared passion for promoting healthy lifestyles and supporting the well-being of our campus community. As part of the Student Wellness & Health Promotion department, we actively plan, promote, and participate in programs designed to enhance student wellness. Through ongoing training and involvement, we develop the skills needed to serve as effective peer educators and role models. Our mission is to empower fellow Eagles to make informed choices and contribute to a positive, health-conscious campus culture.

  • Lead Marketing and Advocacy Efforts: Take an active role in developing and promoting marketing strategies that support the mission of the Wellness Program.
  • Support Program Planning: Assist in the coordination and execution of wellness-related events, activities, and educational programs.
  • Serve as Wellness Advocates: Promote wellness initiatives across campus and within the broader community, fostering awareness and support.
  • Identify Needs and Solutions: Recognize current wellness issues affecting students and help propose practical, inclusive solutions.
  • Inspire Innovation: Act as a catalyst for new program ideas, outreach methods, and creative marketing efforts.
  • Engage and Recruit: Participate in wellness programs and encourage peers to get involved in creating a healthier campus culture.

  • Build Meaningful Connections: Develop peer, professional, and cross-campus relationships that foster personal and academic growth.
  • Enhance Essential Skills: Strengthen collaboration, communication, leadership, and conflict resolution abilities.

Internships & Employment

Student Wellness & Health Promotion offers a range of experiential learning opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students interested in health promotion and behavior change.

Our Internship Program is designed for students seeking to gain hands-on experience in the fields of Public Health, Health Promotion, or Behavior Change. Interns work directly with our professional staff on wellness initiatives, program development, outreach, and evaluation. This is a valuable opportunity to build skills, contribute to the campus community, and explore career paths in health and wellness.

Graduate Assistantship Opportunities

Graduate Assistants with Student Wellness & Health Promotion play a vital role in supporting wellness initiatives across campus. Responsibilities include contributing to wellness-related projects, participating in cross-campus staff meetings, and applying public health principles within the context of a higher education wellness setting. This position offers valuable experience for graduate students looking to deepen their understanding of health promotion in a collegiate environment.

We occasionally offer graduate-level practicums for public health and higher education students. These positions range based on the current needs of Student Wellness & Health Promotion, and are generally unpaid positions.
