When he moved to Savannah, Georgia, to attend Georgia Southern University’s Armstrong Campus in 2015, he carried that tradition forward with the launch of IVolunteer International, a tech nonprofit with a vision to create a network of 7 billion volunteers worldwide.

The group’s newest directive is a partnership with Shopping Angels, a program that offers volunteer food-delivery services to at-risk populations in the U.S. during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art (BFSDoArt) is hosting its annual juried student exhibitions this spring, but for the first time they will appear online. The second of three exhibitions, “Undergraduate Juried 2020,” features student work from students enrolled in BFSDoArt undergraduate classes at any level. The exhibition is available to view online through April 24.

EAGLE Academy students seize distance learning as a new opportunity to prepare for the digital world

When Georgia Southern University College of Education members founded EAGLE Academy, they never planned for students to learn virtually.

So when University System of Georgia colleges and universities closed their campuses in response to the coronavirus pandemic, EAGLE Academy had to determine a new way to help students reach their goals from a distance.

Georgia Southern aquaponics farm on Armstrong Campus donating produce during COVID-19 pandemic

Sustainability is at the forefront of the FORAM Sustainable Aquaponics Research Center (SARC) on the Georgia Southern University Armstrong Campus, even during a pandemic. SARC recently donated produce grown at the aquaponics farm on campus to America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia. Donations like this, as well as other community service projects, are a large part of SARC’s mission.
