Anthropology professor M. Jared Wood, Ph.D., has a passion for archeology and preservation, and he will play a large role in the preservation of historic resources in Georgia as a member of the Georgia National Register Review Board for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Wood was appointed to the board in July.

Georgia Southern music professor holding trumpet performance

Tim Kintzinger, D.M.A., a music professor on the Georgia Southern University Armstrong Campus, will go back to his roots when he performs “Standards” on the trumpet on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 7:30 in the Carol A. Carter Recital Hall on the Statesboro Campus and on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m. at the Fine Arts Auditorium on the Armstrong Campus.

13th annual International Festival brings worldwide cultures to Statesboro

Brazil, France, India, Japan, the United Kingdom and many other countries will be represented in Statesboro on October 27 at the 13th annual International Festival. International students from the Georgia Southern University Global Ambassadors Program will help local elementary, middle and high school students set up booths for the festival, which will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Mill Creek Regional Park.

Georgia Southern University College of Education alumnus Jeff Kelly, Ed.D. (‘96), who earned a bachelor’s in middle grades education from the University, was named a 2018 National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) Outstanding Middle Level Assistant Principal of the Year.
