Georgia Southern University soars to Albania
Professor Lori Amy, Ph.D., department of writing and linguistics, has co-founded a new International non-governmental organization (NGO), OTTOnomy, which provides unique interdisciplinary internship opportunities for Georgia Southern students in Albania and the western Balkans. OTTOnomy was created with a grant from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund to build a regional center for cultural heritage in the western Balkans, and currently works with interns in social media, public history, art, journalism, film, writing and linguistics, anthropology and sociology, and marketing and communications. Interns began their ground-breaking work with the foundation in Summer 2016.

Distributed on a quarterly-basis, the survey covers various types of questions regarding the business industry specifically, the economy as a whole, the business industry’s propensity to hire new staff and investments in capital.
Campus safety at Georgia Southern is within closer reach with LiveSafe app
Classes at Georgia Southern University began today, and the University has launched the free LiveSafe app, a smartphone safety app enabling University Police to more quickly receive notification of and respond to incidents, further helping to keep the campus community safe and well. With a single touch, the LiveSafe app enables any member of the campus community with a smartphone to share GPS-tagged information with the University’s Office of Public Safety for a range of safety concerns.

Patriot Award presented to University Provost Jean Bartels, Ph.D., R.N.
