Compliance Highlights & Policy Updates

  • July 3, 2023 – TikTok may not be downloaded or used on devices connected to federally funded contracts.
  • August 7, 2024 – New policy adopted regarding participation in Malign Government Foreign Talent Recruitment Programs. See details under the Export Control section.
  • December 22, 2023 – The NDAA of 2024 includes the American Security Drone Act, prohibiting the use of federal funds to purchase or operate drones manufactured in China, Russia, or other covered countries after December 2025.
  • September 16, 2023 – Remote ID requirements became mandatory for all drones in U.S. airspace. Learn more about Remote ID for UAS.
  • July 31, 2023 – All senior personnel and students paid on NSF awards are required to complete Responsible Conduct of Research Training.
