The Mr. Georgia Southern Scholarship Competition

The Mr. Georgia Southern University Scholarship Competition provides the opportunity for many talented, young men across campus to showcase themselves in order to represent the university. Mr. Georgia Southern is a role model for the campus and the surrounding community. The title of Mr. Georgia Southern University is a position of great honor and prestige. The 2026 competition marks the 19th annual competition.

The Miss Georgia Southern Scholarship Competition

The Miss Georgia Southern University Scholarship Competition is one of the many lasting traditions of the university. It is also the longest standing preliminary pageant to Miss Georgia in the entire state! Once crowned, the winner could go on to become Miss America! Miss Georgia Southern University represents the student body, attends traditional and community events both on and off-campus. Over the years, we have had many amazing women crowned Miss Georgia Southern University. The 2026 Competition marks the 79th anniversary of this prestigious competition.

Mr. Georgia Southern University Scholarship Competition

DATE, TIME, & LOCATION FOR THE 2027 MR. GEORGIA SOUTHERN SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN THE SPRING 2027 SEMESTER.

The Mr. Georgia Southern University Scholarship Competition provides the opportunity for many talented, young men across campus to showcase themselves in order to represent the university. Mr. Georgia Southern needs to capture the hearts of our campus, be a role model for the campus and Statesboro community, but also be someone you want to grab lunch with. The title of Mr. Georgia Southern University is a position of great honor, and we are seeking the most qualified individual to capture the crown! Anyone that is interested in participating, must attend at least one information session (no exceptions) and submit an application.

Note: Eligibility requirements are set by the Office of Student Activities and are not flexible.

  • Must be enrolled in at least 12 or more hours credit hours and physically attending classes at Georgia Southern University currently and during the competition. If you are a graduate student, you must be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours.
  • Must have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Must attend ALL mandatory meetings and rehearsals
  • Must have completed at least one semester as a full-time student at Georgia Southern University by date of competition.
  • Must be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the university.
  • Must not turn 25 years old during the year of service.
  • Complete application, contract, etc. and submit to the Office of Student Activities on or before the published deadline.
  • Contestants must meet all requirements to be eligible.

In the event of there being more than 18 applicants that meet the above criteria, there will be an additional cut interview by a panel of judges prior to any practices being held, to determine the final 18 contestants that will compete. Contestants should not make any binding commitments or purchases prior to officially being notified of pageant participation approval, by the Office of Student Activities.

Miss Georgia Southern University Scholarship Competition is the longest standing preliminary pageant to Miss Georgia in the entire state! Once crowned, the winner could go on to become Miss America! Miss Georgia Southern University represents the student body, attends traditional and community events both on and off-campus. Anyone that is interested in participating, is not required to attend an information session.

Note: Some of these requirements are from the Miss America Organization and not the University Programming Board. However, you must meet all requirements to participate.

  • Must be currently enrolled in at least 12+ hours at Georgia Southern University. Graduate Students must be in 6+ hours 
  • Must have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.
  • Must have completed at least one semester at Georgia Southern University by date of the competition.
  • Must be in good disciplinary and academic standing with the University.
  • Completed application turned in through Eagle Engage by October 23rd, 2026 @ 11:59pm.
  • Must be a female*.
  • Must not be a parent, adoptive parent, or plan to be one in the year of service*.
  • Must not be pregnant or intend to be pregnant in the year of service*.
  • Must not have been charged with multiple minor or petty offenses in the last twenty-four months.
  • Must not have ever been convicted of any criminal offense and not have any pending criminal charges presently pending.
  • Must not be married or have ever been married during the year of service. 
  • Must not turn 29 years old during the year of service.
  • Must attend all required appearances scheduled for the Office of Student Activities.
  • Opportunity to attend Miss Georgia Forum Weekend, if crowned Miss Georgia Southern University in February 2027
  • Opportunity to attend the Miss Georgia Competition Summer 2027
  • Must be a U.S. citizen (as required by the Miss American Organization).
  • If crowned, must have a recording and/or pictures of events you attend as Miss Georgia Southern.
  • Contestants must meet ALL requirements to be eligible for the competition.

*Denotes Miss America rules. Georgia Southern students are able to compete if they do not meet these requirements but will not be eligible to advance to the next competition level (Miss Georgia).
