Campus Wellbeing

We strive to foster a culture of wellness that champions an environment focused on the whole person, whole educational experience, and whole institution resulting in shared responsibility for the entire campus. Therefore, there are many resources to support student wellbeing on campus.

Be Well Eagles

The health and wellbeing of our students is a top priority at Georgia Southern.  After all, healthy students are successful students!  We champion programs and initiatives to support students’ mental health. With the help of the University System of Georgia and the Governors Emergency Education Relief, we are excited to bring you more Mental Health Initiatives. The Division of Student Affairs- the Counseling Center, Student Wellness and Health Promotion, and Health Services- is launching Be Well Eagles to support the physical and mental health needs of those within our campus community. We invite you to click the button below to explore a wealth of resources to help you thrive.

Togetherall

Togetherall is an online community where students can anonymously share experiences and connect with their peers. This platform is monitored by mental health professionals and available for free to students at Georgia Southern!

Your Wellbeing Support System

Counseling Center
Mental health has a direct impact on academic success, and it is important to cultivate practices that support emotional well-being. The Counseling Center at Georgia Southern University provides services and programs to help students manage everyday challenges and support their personal growth. Services include individual and group therapy, Emotional Wisdom, Sleep Clinic, and Mindful Yoga.

Health Services
Physical well-being is essential to maintaining overall health. Health Services helps students stay healthy through annual checkups, vaccinations, and illness care provided by licensed medical staff. Additional services include optometry, physical therapy, psychiatry, and an on-campus pharmacy.

Campus Recreation & Intramurals (CRI)
CRI offers students a wide range of opportunities to be physically active and socially engaged. Programs include fitness, aquatics, intramurals, group fitness, Southern Adventures, club sports, shooting sports, and golf—available at the RAC, Student Recreation Center, University Park Golf Course, and the Shooting Sports Education Center.

Leadership & Community Engagement
Develop leadership skills and give back to the community through programs like Serve912, the Student Leadership Conference, and Alternative Breaks. This office provides opportunities to build relationships, learn new skills, and make a difference on and off campus.

Student Activities
Building a sense of belonging is key to college success. Student Activities offers events and engagement opportunities through the University Programming Board and other student-focused experiences.

Dean of Students
The Dean of Students office advocates for students and helps them navigate stressful or challenging situations, including grief, housing insecurity, safety concerns, and more. They also support students with faculty communication when needed.

Eagle Dining
Nutrition is vital for well-being. Eagle Dining offers healthy meals across campus, including salads, lean proteins, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. The “No Whey” station at Dining Commons supports students with dietary restrictions and allergies.

Career & Professional Development Services
Career Services supports students preparing for life after graduation with resume help, career counseling, mock interviews, personality assessments, and more.

Academic Success Center
Academic performance boosts confidence and reduces stress. The Academic Success Center offers tutoring, workshops, study strategies, and peer mentoring. Peer mentors are trained in well-being to help students thrive academically.

Student Accessibility Resource Center (SARC)
SARC ensures equal access for students with disabilities through accommodations, testing services, and advocacy. They support students in achieving their academic goals with inclusivity in mind.

Office of Multicultural Affairs
Cultural inclusion and equity are core to student well-being. The Office of Multicultural Affairs promotes diversity education and celebrates the cultural backgrounds of all students, faculty, and staff at Georgia Southern.
