Thousands of alumni and fans will flock to Allen E. Paulson Stadium for two Thursday night football games this season: Oct. 27 against Appalachian State University and Nov. 10 against the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Game day parking regulations from the Office of Parking and Transportation are outlined below:
Georgia Southern to host first TEDxGeorgiaSouthernU event
Georgia Southern University will host TEDxGeorgiaSouthernU on Friday, Oct. 28, 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., in the University’s Black Box Theatre, located in the Center for Art & Theatre at 233 Pittman Drive, Statesboro. The theme for this year’s event is “Connecting Creatively.” Registration is now open and available through GeorgiaSouthern.edu/TEDx with limited seats available.

History professor wins award for new book on women apparel workers
Department of History and College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) faculty member Michelle Haberland’s, Ph.D., latest book, Striking Beauties: Women Apparel Workers in the U.S. South, 1930–2000, was awarded the Southern Historical Association’s H. L. Mitchell Award.
Thomas Koballa to Present Keynote at GERA Conference
Thomas R. Koballa Jr., Ph.D., dean of the College of Education at Georgia Southern, will be the keynote speaker at the Georgia Educational Research Association (GERA) 2016 Annual Conference, which will take place Oct. 7 at the Marriott at the Convention Center in Augusta, Georgia.

Two Nursing Students Awarded the St. Joseph’s/Candler Georgia Southern University Nightingale Scholarship
Third semester nursing student Retha Rowe and second semester nursing student Jessica Hartzog, both in the College of Health and Human Sciences, have been awarded the St. Joseph’s/Candler Georgia Southern University Nightingale Scholarship in the amount of $1,500 each.
