Georgia Southern’s fall enrollment sets several records

Official numbers verified by the University System of Georgia (USG) show Georgia Southern University set several enrollment records this year, and saw growth on its Armstrong Campus in Savannah and in online classes. Georgia Southern’s official fall 2023 enrollment was 26,106, a 2.35% increase over fall 2022’s final enrollment figure of 25,506.

2023 Mark Finlay Memorial Lecture Series hosts Pulitzer Prize-winning art critic  Jerry Saltz on Nov. 9

Saltz will soon come to Georgia Southern University’s Armstrong Campus as part of the Mark Finlay Memorial Lecture Series. His 60-minute lecture, “The Art World Problem,” will be at the Fine Arts Auditorium on the Armstrong Campus on Nov. 9 at 6 p.m.

“Moveable Feast” lecture series returns with discussion of Oscar Wilde at historic venue

Georgia Southern University, one of the top-ranked colleges in the Southeastern U.S., today announced the opening of the newly renovated Gus Mart convenience store – now featuring Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology – in the Fielding D. Russell Union on its Statesboro campus. The debut of the technology makes Georgia Southern the first university in the state to feature Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology, which provides a streamlined, checkout-free shopping experience. The store will operate with extended hours, allowing guests to better shop when it’s easiest for them.

Georgia Southern sophomore prepares for trio of ensembles

Jones began her musical journey with the violin at just four years old, and later embraced singing and exploring a multitude of instruments.
The concert series will begin with the Contemporary Vocal Ensemble on Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. and continue with the Commercial Music Ensemble on Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m. The final performance will showcase the Percussion Ensemble on Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m.
