Where is My Financial Aid?

The University Bursar’s Office begins preparing invoices months before payment deadlines, but financial aid may not always appear immediately. Missing aid could be due to enrollment status, attendance verification, incomplete loan steps, or scholarships still in processing. Students are encouraged to review their account regularly and can generate an on-demand statement through MyGeorgiaSouthern to view the most current balance and updates.

Where’s My Refund?

Student loans and most financial aid begin disbursing on August 21, applying directly toward tuition and required fee charges. If payments exceed charges, the Bursar’s Office issues a refund. Refunds are processed weekly by direct deposit or paper check, though direct deposit is strongly encouraged for quicker, safer delivery. Actual timing depends on enrollment status, attendance verification, and overall financial aid eligibility requirements.

Sign Up for Direct Deposit

Georgia Southern students can securely set up direct deposit through the MyGeorgiaSouthern portal and Bill+Pay system. Enrollment requires two-step verification, a checking account number, and agreement to terms and conditions. Direct deposit is the fastest and safest way to receive refunds, with funds sent directly to your bank account. For payroll direct deposit, student employees must contact the Payroll Department.
