Experience the wonder of the night sky inside the Fulford Center’s full-dome planetarium—a dynamic space where science, storytelling, and hands-on learning come to life. Our planetarium offers a wide range of engaging shows for schools, families, and community groups, including astronomy, Earth science, weather, history, and seasonal programs.

Planetarium Shows at the Fulford Center

Below is a full list of the shows currently available. Programs are grouped by grade level and audience to help you choose the best experience for your visit.

Grades: 1–5 | Length: 34 minutes
Join Rusty Rocket on his final mission as he guides a new class of “rocket rookies” through an introductory tour of the solar system. Explore planetary environments, learn about famous spacecraft, and discover the vast distances between planets—all through Rusty’s entertaining perspective. Featuring the voice of Ranger Doug Green of Riders in the Sky.

Grades: Pre-K–5 | Length: 36 minutes
Follow Little Star on a journey to find planets of his own. Meet different kinds of stars, explore clusters and galaxies, and discover the basics of our solar system. Ideal for young children and perfect for family audiences.

At a local star party, two students learn how telescopes changed our understanding of the universe. Guided by a female astronomer, they explore the discoveries of Galileo, Newton, Hubble, and more—set to a soundtrack by the London Symphony Orchestra.

Audience: Families | Length: 20 minutes
Join Big Bird, Elmo, and Hu Hu Zhu as they introduce young viewers to the Big Dipper, North Star, Sun, and Moon. This interactive Sesame Street adventure encourages children to draw, count, and explore the night sky’s natural wonders.

Debunk space-related myths as the “Bad Astronomer” Phil Plait takes a critical—and entertaining—look at pseudoscience. Explore how scientific reasoning helps us understand the universe more clearly.

Join Jack and Annie as they follow clues from a mysterious note and travel to an observatory, the planets, and deep into the universe. Narrated by Magic Tree House® author Mary Pope Osborne.

Celebrate the season with a two-part show featuring a winter star walk and an imaginative space adventure with Santa and his alien friend, Mr. Freep. A fun way to explore planets and their environments.

A festive, music-filled holiday program featuring classics from Sinatra, Berry, Ives, and more—complete with dazzling dome-wide visuals and a Trans-Siberian Orchestra finale.

Travel across 14 billion years of cosmic history—from the Big Bang to the extinction of the dinosaurs, Halley’s Comet, the Apollo moon landing, and a journey into the future year 3001.

Learn how the Earth, Moon, and Sun interact through the eyes of Coyote, a humorous character inspired by Native American storytelling. Explore orbits, eclipses, lunar phases, fusion, solar energy, and more.

A humorous, fast-paced exploration of the human body, hosted as a game show where contestants show how body systems work together—sometimes in surprisingly “gross” ways.

Travel with a family from another star system as they search for the perfect vacation spot in our solar system. Visit Pluto, soar over Miranda, glide through Saturn’s rings, and encounter Jupiter’s storms—no 3D glasses needed.

Join the Zula Patrol as they learn about weather—both on Earth and across the solar system—while tracking down an interplanetary villain who is stealing weather patterns.

Meet Sunshine, a friendly animated sun who leads young children through the sky, colors, counting, and simple space concepts. Perfect for early learners.

Grades: 2–5 | Length: 20 minutes
Enjoy a lively retelling of the Greek myth of Perseus and Andromeda, brought to life through full-dome animation and narrated by Aesop the owl and Socrates the mouse.

Grades: 1–5 | Length: 25 minutes
Follow Mia as she discovers a strange astronomical device that can control the seasons. A highly engaging story that teaches seasonal science concepts in easy-to-understand ways.
