Upcoming exhibition on Statesboro Campus to feature work of artist Ken Wood

Using bold, sweeping gestures and working with a limited palette, artist Ken Wood explores the unfolding relationships of space, shape and color through printmaking. His upcoming exhibition “Argonauts,” on view from Nov. 5 through 30 in the Contemporary Gallery at the Center for Art and Theatre on the Georgia Southern University Statesboro Campus, features prints from his Argonauts Quatro series.

Senior gallery exhibition “Beyond the Surface” coming to Armstrong Campus

The Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art will be asking viewers to take a deeper look into its upcoming senior exhibition, “Beyond the Surface,” which runs weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 through Friday, Oct. 12 at the Fine Arts Gallery located in Fine Arts Hall on the Armstrong Campus.

Gullah Geechee Heritage Celebration to be held Nov. 1

Georgia Southern’s Office of Multicultural Affairs, Know Your Worth and the African Student Association will host a Gullah Geechee Heritage Celebration on Thursday, Nov. 1, on the Statesboro Campus in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and will be followed by a brief reception.

Georgia Southern Armstrong Campus hosts senior visual art exhibition “Dichotomy” beginning Oct. 22

“Dichotomy,” an upcoming senior art show on the Georgia Southern University Armstrong Campus in Savannah, will feature the work of three graduating seniors, Darian Merritt, William Wright and Eric Sanders, at the Fine Arts Gallery Oct. 22 through Nov. 2. A closing reception will be held Nov. 2 from 5:30-7 p.m. The gallery and reception are both free and open to the public.

Piano in the Arts presents Colombian musicians for next installment of concert series
