
RecycleMania, the premier collegiate recycling competition managed by Keep America Beautiful, is currently underway at Georgia Southern University, and is encouraging students to reduce, reuse, recycle and compost the most on campuses across the country.

The U.S. Army Cadet Command at Fort Knox, Kentucky, has announced Georgia Southern University’s Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program is one of eight schools to receive the prestigious MacArthur Award for the 2015-2016 school year. This is the second consecutive MacArthur Award for the Eagle Battalion and is the fourth overall since 2009. The Eagle Battalion previously received the award in 2009, 2010 and 2015.

A call for proposals is now open for the Georgia International Conference on Information Literacy, that will be held at the Coastal Georgia Center in Savannah Sept. 15 to 16.

As the Obama administration came to a close, so did the White House internship of alumna Charisma-Kimberly Tataw (‘14, ‘16). Tataw had the opportunity to be part of the final internship class of the administration and couldn’t be prouder of her accomplishments there.
Luke Bryan (’99), Georgia Southern alumnus and award-winning country music artist, has been selected to perform the national anthem at the 51st Super Bowl, making him the first male performer to sing the anthem in 10 years and the first country artist to perform it since 2010.
