Two graduate programs in Waters College of Health Professions ranked nationally

Georgia Southern University has received national rankings for two master’s degree programs in the Waters College of Health Professions.

The Master of Science in Sport Management was ranked No. 14 on Sport Management Degree Guide’s list of “25 Best Online Master’s in Sports Management Degree Programs.”

The Master of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in sport and exercise psychology was ranked No. 20 on Online Psychology Degrees’ list of “Online Psychology Degrees Top Graduate Degree Programs.”

The 36-credit hour programs are designed to provide a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum and practical experience in the skills and techniques necessary to be successful in their fields. National Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month is from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 and celebrates the history, culture and contributions of the Hispanic and Latino American communities.

Georgia Southern’s MSAE recognized by Best Value Schools

The Georgia Southern University Parker College of Business online Master of Science in Applied Economics (MSAE) has been recognized as one of the five best online master’s programs in economics for 2020.

“We are very proud to be able to offer a high-quality program at an affordable price,” stated Amanda King, Ph.D., professor of economics and MSAE coordinator. “Students who complete our program have a marketable analytical skill set that allows them to make business decisions in a diverse and changing data-driven world.”

The Georgia Southern University MSAE is a fully online, asynchronous program with stackable credentials for working professionals. This allows students in the program to continue working while they complete the coursework. The graduate program can be completed in as few as five semesters with students taking two courses per semester.

Georgia Southern presents ‘Our Lost Years’ screening, Q&A at annual Mark Finlay Memorial Lecture on Sept. 26

This year’s Mark Finlay Memorial Lecture, hosted by the College of Arts and Humanities at Georgia Southern University, will be held on Sept. 26. Mr. Lane Nishikawa, director and producer of the film, “Our Lost Years,” will introduce the film’s screening, which will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Armstrong Center Auditorium on the Armstrong Campus. The event is free and open to the public with a Q&A and reception to follow.

“On the Verge” concert series makes Armstrong Campus debut

Georgia Southern University’s On the Verge concert series devoted to contemporary art music, will feature The Bold City Contemporary Ensemble, on Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. on the Armstrong Campus in Savannah in the Fine Arts Auditorium. This is the first performance of the On the Verge series on the Armstrong Campus.
