  • Monday – Friday: 9 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
  • Saturday: 1 p.m. – 4:45 p.m. 
  • Sunday: Closed

*Closed on Saturdays during May, June, July and August

Admission Fees

  • Georgia Southern Faculty, Staff and Students (with ID): Free
  • Adults: $4.00
  • Children (3-11 years of age): $2.00
  • Military (with ID): $2.00
  • Senior Citizens: $2.00
  • Children under 3 years of age: Free

Annual Admission Rates

  • Adults: $20.00
  • Children (3-11 years of age): $15.00
  • Military (with ID): $15.00
  • Senior Citizens: $15.00

Annual admission includes unlimited visits. Annual admission passes are not applicable for special events and field trips.

Animals at the Wildlife Center

Get an up-close look at the incredible wildlife that calls Georgia home. The Center for Wildlife Education features a wide range of native species, from soaring raptors and majestic eagles to reptiles, amphibians, waterfowl, and mammals. Each exhibit highlights the unique characteristics, habitats, and ecological importance of these animals, offering visitors a chance to explore the natural world through education, conservation, and discovery.

Eagles

As symbols of strength and freedom, eagles hold a special place at the Center for Wildlife Education. Learn about these powerful birds of prey, their natural habitats, and the vital role they play in Georgia’s ecosystem. Visitors can observe preserved specimens and educational displays honoring our region’s majestic raptors.

Raptors

From hawks and owls to falcons and vultures, raptors are essential to maintaining ecological balance. The Center offers a close look at these fascinating birds of prey, highlighting their unique adaptations for hunting, flight, and survival in the wild.

Reptiles

Discover the often misunderstood world of reptiles, including snakes, turtles, and lizards native to Georgia’s Coastal Plain. Through interactive exhibits and live displays, visitors gain a new appreciation for these ancient and essential members of the food web.

Amphibians

Frogs, toads, and salamanders take center stage in the Center’s amphibian exhibits. These sensitive species are vital indicators of environmental health. Explore their life cycles, habitats, and the conservation efforts protecting them in the Southeast.

Waterfowl & Wading Birds

The Center’s wetland habitats provide refuge for a variety of ducks, herons, and other aquatic birds. Learn how these species rely on Georgia’s waterways and wetlands, and see them in action as they wade, nest, and feed in naturalistic environments.

Mammals

While the Center primarily focuses on reptiles and birds, select mammal exhibits introduce visitors to Georgia’s native species like opossums and raccoons. These small but significant animals offer insight into the diverse wildlife that calls our state home.
