Did you know Georgia Southern University students can receive FREE 24/7 online tutoring service from Tutor.com™? Tutor.com™ connects students with expert online tutors who can help with 100+ subject areas.

Tutor.com™ can also assist students with building foundational writing skills through the following services (listed as “subjects” on the website): ESL Writing Support, Grammar Help, and Live Writing Help.

All Georgia Southern University students are allotted 600 minutes / 10 hours for Tutor.com usage each semester.

Peer Tutoring

Peer Tutoring with the Academic Success Center

The Academic Success Center offers free peer tutoring services in a variety of courses for Georgia Southern students, both virtually and in person. Students on the Armstrong Campus will find us in the Student Success Center. Students on the Statesboro Campus will find us in the Henderson Library (first floor). We also offer After Hours and Weekend in-person Tutoring in Statesboro at Centennial 2104 Learning Center 1. Students can schedule an appointment ahead of time using Penji or walk-in during operating hours. All students can also utilize Tutor.com for free, 24/7, which offers live online tutoring assistance, drop off essay review, and practice tests!

While peer tutoring is provided for a variety of courses, it is not available in every subject area. However, we are happy to refer students to free tutoring services offered by academic departments or by Tutor.com (see below).

Peer Tutoring Across Campus

The Engineering Learning Center (ELC) on the Armstrong Campus serves as a place where students can get free tutoring from their peers for several challenging engineering courses. It is also a place to study, meet other engineering students, meet faculty, meet for study groups and build long-lasting friendships. Visit our website.

Peer Tutoring Schedule: These are times when tutors are available.

Online tutoring is via Google Space. 

*Students may post questions anytime on Google Space.  The tutors will respond to pending questions when they are on schedule.  

Physical Location: University Hall # 240  (Armstrong Campus)

*Students may use the room as a study hall at any time.

Parker College of Business offers tutoring based on semester availability for Accounting and Information Systems and Analytics departments. This is usually in the PCOB Tutoring Lab room 3337. More information can be found on their department websites:

The Department of Mathematical Sciences offers free in-person and virtual tutoring to all GSU students for core Mathematics and Statistics courses through MASTER “Math and Statistics Enhancement Room”.  MASTER is located on the third floor of the Math/Physics Building in room 3000 on the Statesboro campus.  For in-person tutoring, students can drop in anytime during hours of operation without an appointment.  For virtual tutoring, use the link or QR code in the MASTER flier to fill out the Google Request form.  You must use your GSU credentials to access the Google form.

The Science & Mathematics Academic Resource & Tutorial (SMART) Center offers free tutoring to the Armstrong campus by student tutors in Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, General and Organic Chemistry, Physics, Statistics, and Mathematics.

Appointments can be booked through Penji.

Student-Athlete Services has free tutoring available for Georgia Southern student-athletes. Tutor sessions are offered face-to-face in Cone Hall. While tutoring is provided for a variety of courses, it is not available in every subject area. Student-Athlete Services offers tutoring in core Math, Science, Humanities, and select Psychology and Sociology courses. To request an appointment, students should reach out to their Athletic Academic Advisor.

TRiO tutoring is for TRiO participants only. In-person tutoring is available and virtual tutoring will be hosted via Google Meet. Prior to attending a tutoring session, participants will be provided with a link to join the virtual tutoring session with the TRiO tutor.

The World Languages and Cultures Department offers free peer tutoring virtually and in person. Students can make an appointment by emailing the address listed for each language or can drop by the Language Resource Center, Gamble Hall 120 at the Armstrong Campus or World Languages and Cultures Library (room 2034) in the Interdisciplinary Academic Building at the Statesboro campus.
