
Nandi A. Marshall, DrPH, (’12) has been appointed as the new Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for Georgia Southern University’s Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health.

Michael Pemberton, Ph.D., was named a Distinguished Fellow of the Association for Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) at the 2021 International Writing Across the Curriculum Conference. Pemberton holds the rank of professor in the Department of Writing and Linguistics, and he directs the University Writing Center in Statesboro. Georgia Southern University assistant professor of elementary education Beverly Miller, Ph.D., received the 2021 Inspiring Programs in STEM Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the largest and oldest diversity and inclusion publication in higher education.

Photovoice Project, a visual, community-based research project that helps identify social, cultural and physical barriers that Black mothers in Chatham County face while breastfeeding.
