Michael Pemberton named distinguished fellow by national writing organization
Michael Pemberton, Ph.D., was named a Distinguished Fellow of the Association for Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) at the 2021 International Writing Across the Curriculum Conference. Pemberton holds the rank of professor in the Department of Writing and Linguistics, and he directs the University Writing Center in Statesboro. Double Eagle Christina Cook (’13,’19) has assisted Nandi Marshall, DrPH, associate professor in the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health and associate dean of Academic Affairs, on the groundbreaking Savannah H.O.P.E. Photovoice Project, a visual, community-based research project that helps identify social, cultural and physical barriers that Black mothers in Chatham County face while breastfeeding.
